1. Agreement and who may order
These Custom Design Service Terms ("Design Terms") are an agreement between you and Great North Sellers LLC d/b/a Transfer Thread, doing business as Transfer Thread ("Transfer Thread," "we," or "us"). They apply when you submit a custom-design brief, approve a project summary, purchase design services, review artwork, or authorize production. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement, or be authorized to act for the person, business, team, or organization named in the project.
Your electronic acceptance is your agreement to the version shown when you submit. The current version is 2026-08-16. A later website update will not change an already accepted project unless both sides agree in writing.
2. Free brief, project summary, and order of terms
A submitted brief is a request for review, not a purchase, guaranteed acceptance, or promise that the project can be completed. Before paid work starts, Transfer Thread will send a written project summary identifying the selected design level, exact design fee, included deliverables, primary print location, any approved additions, estimated schedule, and expected printing costs when available.
If documents conflict, the accepted project summary controls project-specific price, deliverables, and timing; these Design Terms control the design service; and the general Terms of Service, Shipping Policy, and Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policycontrol the purchase and delivery of physical products.
3. Published design fees and included scope
- Custom Layout & Lettering — $75. One focused creative direction, one primary print-location layout, two revision rounds, one digital approval proof, and one production-ready final file.
- Custom Illustration — $175. One developed illustrated composition, one primary print location, two revision rounds, one digital approval proof, and one production-ready final file.
- Signature Artwork — $399. One highly detailed centerpiece with the deepest level of development, one primary print location, three revision rounds, one digital approval proof, and one production-ready final file.
A customer who selects "Recommend the right level" will receive one of these three exact prices before payment. Design fees do not include garments, printing, shipping, tax, rush service, paid fonts or licensed assets, additional print locations, alternate compositions, editable source files, or work outside the approved brief. Any such item must be listed with its exact price in a written project summary or change approval before it is charged.
4. Revisions and changes in direction
One revision round means one consolidated list of changes delivered at one time. Included revisions must remain within the approved concept, wording, audience, style, and placement. Corrections needed to make our proof match exact wording previously supplied and approved by you do not consume a revision round.
Additional in-scope revision rounds are $50 each and require written approval before work continues. A new concept, substantially changed message, new art direction, additional composition, or newly requested print location is not a revision; it requires a separate written scope and exact price. No added work or fee is authorized by silence.
5. Payment, start of work, cancellation, and inactivity
The approved design fee is due before creative work begins. If you cancel before work begins, the design fee will be refunded. Once work begins, 50% of the design fee is earned. Once the first design proof is delivered, the full design fee is earned and nonrefundable because the service is customized to your brief.
If Transfer Thread cancels a paid project without completing the corresponding earned milestone, we will refund the unearned portion. Refunds do not transfer rights in rejected, unpaid, or unfinished work. If we request feedback and receive no response for 30 days, the project may be placed on hold; after 60 days, it may be closed. Reopening a closed project requires a new written scope, but no new fee is charged unless you approve it.
6. Customer materials, instructions, and permissions
You retain ownership of material you supply. You give Transfer Thread a limited license to store, reproduce, edit, adapt, transmit to production and creative service providers, and otherwise use that material only as reasonably necessary to evaluate, create, revise, produce, document, and support your project.
You represent that you own or have permission to use every name, slogan, logo, photograph, likeness, recording, font, image, and other item you supply or direct us to use. You are responsible for authorization from businesses, teams, organizations, performers, photographers, and people depicted in submitted material. Inspiration references communicate direction; they are not instructions to copy another creator's protected expression.
7. Restricted requests and rights review
Transfer Thread may decline, pause, or cancel requests that reasonably appear unlawful, infringing, deceptive, defamatory, threatening, exploitative, or unsafe; misuse a trademark, copyrighted character, celebrity likeness, or private image; or cannot be produced responsibly. We may request evidence of permission.
Unless the project summary expressly includes a separate clearance service, Transfer Thread does not provide a legal opinion, comprehensive copyright search, trademark clearance, right-of-publicity clearance, or guarantee that wording or imagery is available for registration or unrestricted commercial use.
8. AI-assisted and other creative tools
Transfer Thread may use generative artificial intelligence, image-editing software, enlargement tools, vector tools, typography tools, and other creative technology as part of concept development and production. Every delivered design remains subject to Transfer Thread's human direction, selection, review, refinement, and production preparation. The service is not represented as human-only or entirely hand-drawn unless the accepted project summary expressly says so.
Instructions and reference files may be processed by creative technology providers as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not submit trade secrets, legally privileged information, government identity documents, medical records, financial account information, or other highly sensitive material unless Transfer Thread has agreed in writing to a different handling process.
9. Final artwork rights and practical exclusivity
After full payment, and subject to rights you or third parties already own, Transfer Thread assigns to you any transferable copyright it owns in original human-authored portions created specifically for the final approved design. For any final elements that Transfer Thread can license but cannot assign, you receive a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, display, distribute, advertise, manufacture, and sell the final approved design for your stated project, including through another production vendor. You may authorize a production vendor to use the final file solely to make your products.
Transfer Thread retains its name, logo, preexisting artwork, prompts, methods, templates, production recipes, know-how, and other background materials. Third-party assets remain subject to their licenses. Editable working files, prompts, rejected directions, and unused concepts are not included unless the project summary says otherwise.
Transfer Thread will not intentionally sell or reuse your complete final approved composition for another customer. However, AI-generated elements may not qualify for copyright protection, and generative systems or other creators may independently produce similar elements. We therefore do not guarantee absolute uniqueness, copyright registration, or the ability to prevent every similar use by others.
10. Portfolio use
After the project or related products have been made public, Transfer Thread may display the final approved design and finished-product photographs in its portfolio, website, social media, and service marketing. Tell us in writing before final approval if the project must remain private. We will not publicly disclose a private project merely because a brief was submitted.
11. Proofs, customer approval, and production differences
You must review every proof for wording, spelling, names, dates, colors, placement, proportions, and overall direction. Written or electronic final approval authorizes production. Customer-requested corrections after final approval may require a new fee and may affect delivery timing. Display settings, garment texture and color, print method, ink behavior, and normal production tolerances can cause reasonable differences between an on-screen proof and the physical product.
12. Timing and communication
Any schedule is an estimate unless the accepted project summary expressly calls it guaranteed. Customer response time, changed instructions, unavailable materials, rights questions, supplier delays, equipment issues, shipping events, and events beyond reasonable control may change the schedule. Transfer Thread is not responsible for delay caused by incomplete information, missing approvals, or late feedback.
13. Service standard and disclaimers
Transfer Thread will perform the design service with commercially reasonable care consistent with the accepted scope. Creative judgment is subjective, and we do not promise a particular marketing result, sales result, audience response, registration, or legal outcome. Except for express promises in these Design Terms and rights that cannot lawfully be waived, the service and preliminary concepts are provided without additional warranties, whether express or implied.
14. Responsibility for customer-provided material
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Transfer Thread and its owners, employees, and contractors from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from material or instructions you supplied, your lack of required permission, or your material breach of Sections 6 or 7. We will provide reasonably prompt notice and allow you to participate in the defense. This obligation does not cover a claim caused by Transfer Thread's independent unauthorized addition to the approved design.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Transfer Thread will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost business, or lost opportunity arising from the design service. Transfer Thread's total liability for a design-service claim will not exceed the design fees you paid for the affected project. These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or liability that applicable law does not allow the parties to limit.
16. Georgia law and disputes
Before filing a claim, each side agrees to send a written description of the issue and requested resolution and allow 30 days for a good-faith attempt to resolve it. Notices to Transfer Thread may be sent to support@transferthread.com. These Design Terms are governed by Georgia law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any court proceeding must be brought in a state court located in Houston County, Georgia, or a federal court with jurisdiction over Houston County. Either party may bring an eligible individual matter in small-claims court. Nothing here eliminates a nonwaivable consumer right or agency remedy.
17. General provisions
Neither side is responsible for failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, except that payment obligations already due remain due. You may not transfer the service agreement before full payment without our written consent; after payment, the artwork rights in Section 9 may be transferred with the related business or project. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder will continue. A waiver must be written and applies only to that instance. The accepted project summary, these Design Terms, and the linked store policies are the complete agreement for the project and may be amended only in a written or electronic record accepted by both sides.
